When Ohio Employee Health Partnership made the decision to enter the Workers' Compensation arena and make application to the BWC, we recognized that your MCO development needed specific components to be successful.

The employers and injured workers already existed. Health care providers had been caring for the injured worker prior to the managed care conception. Ohio Employee Health Partnership was founded on the simple concept of bringing all these entities together in order to encourage everyone's commitment to the program.

Ohio Employee Health Partnership researched occupational health programs throughout the state. We personally met and talked with them at great length to insure that our approach and philosophies paralleled one another. Occupational medicine is a speciality and we wanted Centers that understood and practiced the uniqueness of its' delivery. When all out "due diligence" was completed, we selected our 26 Regional Case Management Center (RCMC) Partners. Each of our RCMCs not only provide an occupational health center for the treatment of work related illness/injury, but serve as the liaison for managing cases from First Report of Injury to conclusion and Return-to-work status. It is this approach and partnership that has enhanced our ability to more appropriately managed care, report efficiently to the BWC and further communicate with the employer/employee involved.

Selecting dedicated occupational health care providers as our team, has been an integral component to the success of our Managed Care Organization. We certainly need our employers and employees to make the HPP successful, however, our RCMCs are a pivotal point to the continued support of the program.

If you haven't already...please introduce yourself to your assigned or selected RCMC. They can be a valuable resource for your company and work with you towards accomplishing your health care cost containment and quality care goals.
